Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMWPE) is often referred to as the world’s toughest polymer. UHMWPE is a linear high density polyethylene which has high abrasion resistance, as well as high impact strength. UHMWPE is also chemical resistant and has a low coefficient of friction which makes it highly effective in a variety of applications.

HMWPE
High Molecular Weight Polyethylene
High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (HMWPE) is a high density polyethylene with a molecular weight of 500,000g/mol. This gives it better wear, impact and abrasion resistance than HDPE but it does not achieve the superior performance of UHWMPE.

HDPE
High Density Polyethylene High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) is more rigid and harder than lower density PE’s. Its tensile strength is four times that of LDPE and its compressive strength is three times better. Compared to UHMWPE it has approximately 1/3 the wear resistance and 1/2 the impact resistance.

Nylons were the first of the thermoplastic engineering resins. TECAST nylon is widely known for its abrasion and impact resistance. Absorption of moisture further enhances its shock resistant properties. TECAST nylons cost effectiveness sees its variants utilised in many industries. Addition of oil to the polymer gives improved performance in sliding applications with high pressure-velocity factors. An MoS2 filler increases dimensional stability and improves resistance to abrasion. |

ACETAL-PE BLEND
Blend Of POM & PE By blending Acetal with UHMWPE a unique product is produced, giving TECAFORM AH-LA Blue acetal enhanced dry running properties. It is particularly effective running against stainless steel when a closely machined, self lubricating part is required for use in a caustic environment. Usually used as substitute to PTFE lubricated PETP, which has limited resistance to caustic cleaning solutions and hot water. |

PETP
Polyethylene Terephthalate Thermoplastic polyester exhibits good wear properties in moist or dry surroundings. TECAPET PETP has high dimensional stability due to low thermal expansion, low moisture uptake, good dielectric properties and good chemical resistance. Hot water resistance is low. |

PTFE
Polytetrafluoroethylene PTFE (DuPont’s trademark of Teflon®) is a thermoplastic member of the fluoropolymer family of plastics. PTFE has a low coefficient of friction, excellent insulating properties, and is chemically inert to most substances. It also can withstand high heat applications up to 260oC and it is well know for its anti-stick properties.

TECASINT
Polyimide
Semi-finished products and direct formed parts made of TECASINT have outstanding long-term thermal stability. The broad temperature range of these materials extends from -270oC to 300oC . TECASINT materials will even withstand short-term heating to 350oC, without melting or softening. Material strangth, dimensional stability and creep resistance under mechnical load also remain high in continuous use. |

POLYPROPYLENE (PP) Polypropylene offers a good balance of thermal, chemical, and electrical strength. The durability to impacts, primarily at low temperatures is not as good as that of polyethylene. Yet the high resistance to chemicals, even solvents, combined with its affordability is often decisive for the use of polypropylene over other materials.

POLYURETHANE (PU) Polyurethane is an elastomeric material of exceptional physical properties such as, toughness, flexibility, resistance to abrasion, temperature, puncture and tearing. Its hardness can vary from very soft to extremely hard. Polyurethane combines the toughness of metal with the elasticity of rubber. Polyurethane can be custom cast, enabling it to be cost effective for small to medium production runs.
