Due to growth in our Mt Maunganui branch we are looking for a Production Assistant to join our team.
Reporting to the Production Manager, the position will include:
• Assisting with scheduling jobs through our computerised systems.
• Communicating with internal customer service staff on job status.
• Supporting continuous improvement and efficiency strategies at both a job and across branch level.
• Ordering job consumables, tooling and third-party materials when required.
• Quality control using metrology equipment to ensure compliance to engineering drawings.

  • Skills and experience
    The applicant:
  • Must be computer literate and experienced in both Microsoft software and ERP systems.
  • Must be technical skilled with a mechanical aptitude.
  • Must be an effective communicator and have a personal safety awareness.
  • Must have attention to detail and be quality focused.
  • Experience in machining would be an advantage.
  • Be able to work well within a team.

This role primarily involves phone contact, email, estimating, quoting and providing technical service to our diverse customer base.

You would be joining our awesome internal team and working alongside our field sales engineers and machining/fabrication team to produce innovative solutions using the capability our modern machine shop has to offer.

The applicant would ideally:

  • Have an interest or background in mechanical engineering.
  • An Engineering qualification would be beneficial but not essential.
  • Have some knowledge of machining processes.
  • Be able to interpret engineering drawings.
  • Have good PC skills.
  • Have the ability to communicate effectively and have a great telephone presence.
  • Be able to work well within a team.
