Norzorb Anti-Rebound Material
Norzorb is a high-performance anti-rebound material crafted from a specially engineered urethane formulation that absorbs up to 75% more energy than standard polyurethane. This unique characteristic offers an excellent choice for high impact applications where severe ‘bounce-back’ is a concern.
In the timber processing industry, logs and boards often move from one conveyor deck to another, usually at perpendicular angles. As the material transitions between these perpendicular decks, it strikes an end fence.
The impact between the product and the end fence can cause significant bounce-back, which may:
- Damage the product
- Damage the conveyor structures
- Cause product to jam between the chains
These issues lead to costly repairs and unplanned downtime.
Norzorb provides a shock-absorbing cushion for a variety of product-specific transfers and process applications. The energy absorbed can reduce product and structural damage and greatly reduce product bounce-back.
The Norzorb material can be bonded to a steel face plate and/or backing plate to reduce impact loads and prevent damage to the anti-rebound material.
A UHMW-PE face plate can also be used to:
- Increase the slide properties
- Spread the impact load
The below video clearly demonstrates the difference between Norzorb and standard Urethane. Both products have a hardness of 50A, yet the bounce-back is dramatically reduced using Norzorb.
Both tests were completed under the exact same conditions, highlighting the performance advantage of Norzorb in high-impact environments.
- Reduced product and structural damage
- Reduced rebound, mis-trim, and noise
- Reduced maintenance
- 3 Stage & standard ending fences
- Roll case & high-speed transfers
- Planer out-feeds
- Log and cant stops
If you’re looking to reduce bounce-back, protect equipment, and minimise downtime, Norzorb may be the ideal solution.
