A WHALE brand chain puller and chain breaker makes it easy to add and remove chain links.

WHALE Brand Chain Pullers & Chain Breakers

Supply Services offers WHALE brand chain breakers and chain pullers to facilitate the installation of our roller chain products. These premium tools are crafted and assembled with precision in Japan. Both the breakers and pullers are compatible with any brand of ANSI or BS roller chain.

The chain breaker is compatible with nearly all of Supply Service’s roller chains.
Chain Breakers

Breaking roller chains has never been easier, whether you’re on-site or in the workshop. Chain breakers, also known as pin or rivet extractors, reduce the need for using a hammer and punch to remove pins from roller chains of varying sizes. This means you can break the chain while it is in place with ease.

The concept is simple: these tools act like a miniature hand-driven press. By winding the chain breaker’s hardened punch into the factory pin of the chain, you can efficiently press the riveted head of the pin through the first link plate of the chain. In some cases, with the larger chains, you may first need to grind the head off the pin you wish to remove. After the hard work has been done by the chain breaker, if necessary, the remaining length of pin can be driven out by a hammer and punch.  The chain can then be rejoined using a suitable roller chain connecting link.

Supply Services stock multiple sizes to service most of our common roller chains.

Chain Pullers

One of the primary uses of chain pullers is to eliminate the need for a second person when fitting a connecting link or crank link to roller chains. Often, the two ends of the chain that require joining must be pulled under tension. While maintaining this tension, the connecting link needs to be inserted, a task that can be challenging, particularly with larger roller chains or in confined working environments.

Our chain pullers act as an invaluable third hand. Attach one leg to each end of the chain, then simply wind the handle. This action pulls both ends of the chain together and holds them under tension, allowing for effortless installation of a connecting or crank link.

Supply Services stocks a variety of chain puller sizes to accommodate nearly all the roller chain sizes.
