Features
Acrylic has good thermal stability, high mechanical strength & rigidity. With low water absorption, excellent weather resistance & UV stability, it is a very versatile material. It can be easily machined & polished meaning marks & surface haze from machining can be polished out to maintain the transparency it is known for.
Acrylic & PC are often confused due to their similar appearance but do have some key differences. Acrylic has 17x the impact resistance of glass, PC has 250x. Acrylic can be polished to restore clarity, whereas PC cannot. Acrylic has a temperature range of -32 ºC to 80 ºC, PC can withstand temperatures up to 120ºC. Acrylic is more cost effective than PC.
Acrylic’s transparency, strength & rigidity make it a fantastic material choice in a wide range of applications. Acrylic can be used in a variety of ways such as brochure holders, a glazing alternative or glass replacement, signage, display cases, sneeze guards, flanges & sight glasses.
