Polypropylene PP-C PP-H

Polypropylene

Polypropylene (PP) is a rigid material that can be supplied as either a homopolymer (PP-H) or copolymer material (PP-C). With negligible moisture absorption, high corrosion resistance & reasonable temperature resistance, PP is a cost effective material suitable for a wide range of applications. Although poor with abrasion, PP is a hard, stiff material suitable for welding and fabricating. Available in rod, tube & sheet stock shapes.
Excellent chemical & corrosion properties at low cost
Stain, odour & moisture resistant
Tough, durable & lightweight

Features

Homopolymer

Polypropylene homopolymer (PP-H) is stiffer and has a higher operating temperature than PP-C. It has high corrosion resistance & good tensile strength. It can maintain its rigidity at high temperatures & has great resistance to moisture & chemicals. PP-H is resistant to most acids & bases even at higher temperatures & concentrations.

Copolymer

Polypropylene copolymer (PP-C) is softer & offers better impact & stress crack resistance than PP-H. It has a hard, smooth surface & paired with its great chemical resistance, makes it ideal for use in areas where hygiene is a concern. PP-C is a versatile material that can be fabricated and is suitable for a wide range of applications.

Applications

Polypropylene with its good balance of mechanical properties can be used in a variety of applications such as pipe flanges, gaskets, hygienic wall linings, laboratory applications, scrubbers, tanks & covers, packers, chemical pump parts, fume hoods & ducts, clicker plates, displays & machined parts.
